Recently, we celebrated a major milestone with friends and family, followed by an official launch of the AWallsz Innovation Hub to professionals in the healthcare sector, marking the beginning of a new era in sustainable, modular innovation. We had the honour of Bradley Thomas, Bromsgrove Local MP, attend both events, sharing inspirational words and showcasing his support of Architectural Wallsz.
From Empty Warehouse to Innovation Hub
A couple of months ago, the hub started as an empty warehouse devoid of mechanical and electrical (M&E) infrastructure. Before construction began, we visualised the now functioning Innovation Hub through our digital software ICE and VR headsets, allowing us to make informed decisions to mitigate waste during the construction process.
Sustainable Construction in Action
Utilising unused materials from projects previous, such as plywood and drywall, we were able to prevent unnecessary waste and ensure a sustainable approach throughout the build of the new office, all while using materials not necessarily deemed for their sustainable use. The raised access flooring was built using reused floor tiles available to purchase through the FIS re-use initiative. Additionally, our prefabricated partitions, repurposed from our previous office and projects, reinforced our commitment to circular construction practices. To further emphasise this, each prefabricated component can be reconfigured and reused, again and again.
Adding the Finishing Touches
Once all the structural components were complete, it was time to add some personal touches. Manifestation was used throughout the new space, enhancing the glazed partitions and adding additional privacy to the acoustic timber-framed meeting room. Plants were incorporated throughout the space, bringing the outside in and adding natural elements. Bulkheads also received a touch-up of paint from members of the team in the office, showing their dedication and commitment to the new office.
Celebrating the Opening
Once complete, the AWallsz Innovation Hub opened its doors to friends, family, and suppliers who helped with the construction of the hub. The evening was filled with pizza, beer, activities, and great conversations. We also had the honour of Bradley Thomas, Bromsgrove’s Local MP, cutting the ribbon and officially declaring the AWallsz Innovation Hub open.
Healthcare Sector Launch Event
We then opened the doors to professionals within healthcare to celebrate the launch. Bradley Thomas also joined us for this event, where he shared some inspirational words and showcased his support for Architectural Wallsz. We also had the pleasure of inviting two companies as guest speakers, KOPE and MedicSolution. Both companies shared valuable insights into their solutions and how they can support the future of healthcare spaces. The event concluded on a tour of the showroom, showcasing a prefabricated patient room, a functioning Segregation Pod, and a chance to experience the digital software through VR headsets. This event is the first of many events that Architectural Wallsz are to host.
